Forest fires continue to mobilise major resources in France.
An overview of the situation.

An overview of the situation. Several French departments are still battling major forest fires, particularly in the Gironde, the Landes, the Var and Haute-Corse. Intense heat, drought and wind continue to fuel the spread of the fires, and many ground and air resources have been deployed.
So far, more than 220,000 people have been evacuated, mainly in south-west France, where the fires have led to large-scale precautionary evacuations to protect residents, holidaymakers and infrastructure.
Firefighters, supported by reinforcements from all over France and from several European countries, are continuing their operations to protect the population and slow the advance of the flames. The authorities remind everyone of the importance of following safety instructions, avoiding any behaviour that could start a fire and remaining extremely vigilant.
Radio Tripoint expresses its full support to the firefighters, the security forces, the volunteers and the people affected by these fires.
