Director Lila Ben Saâla is completing her feature film “I Am From There…”, a humanist documentary about young people who rebuild themselves through art and poetry, in particular the work of the Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish.
Filming is complete, and the project is entering its final phase: editing and post-production, with a view to release in France and internationally. A crowdfunding campaign has been launched to raise the necessary funds.
With this film, the director wants to show that culture can become a real tool for resilience, hope and belonging. Much more than a simple testimony, “I Am From There…” puts the power of words and artistic creation at the heart of rebuilding lives.
Deeply humanist and cross-border in spirit, the project explores the exchange of stories, languages and emotions across borders. An invitation to discover committed cinema in which poetry becomes a universal language.
