SOLAR ECLIPSE ON 12 AUGUST: AN EVENT NOT TO BE MISSED IN THE GREATER REGION.
This Wednesday, 12 August 2026, a large partial solar eclipse will be visible in our region.

This Wednesday, 12 August 2026, a large partial solar eclipse will be visible in our region.
From Sierck-les-Bains to Apach and Bouzonville, but also in Perl, Schengen and Remich, the show will begin at around 7:20 pm, with the maximum expected at around 8:15 pm.
To make the most of it, choose a spot with a clear view to the west, as the sun will already be low at that time of day.
Warning: never look directly at the sun without suitable protection. Special “eclipse glasses” meeting the ISO 12312-2 standard are essential for direct observation. Ordinary sunglasses do not protect your eyes sufficiently.
One unknown remains: the weather. If the sky is clear enough, the show should be particularly impressive across our Greater Region.
